As members of the baby boomer generation, we fully appreciate the remarkable technological advancements of the modern era. Yet, alongside this progress, we have witnessed a troubling decline in social behavior,
personal presentation, and the grace once valued in everyday conduct.
Today, many among the younger generations appear to prioritize comfort,
convenience, and quantity over effort, preparation, and quality. What earlier
generations recognized as elegance—in both appearance and behavior—has
become increasingly rare in daily life and media alike.
Even those of us who may not have embodied sophistication ourselves could
still recognize elegance when we saw it. With this in mind, we have chosen
to reach out to individuals, companies and institutions once celebrated for
their elegance—or known for creating refined, artistic, and sophisticated
work. We have invited them to participate in a cyber exposition that honors,
preserves, and disseminates their contributions
The result is “Exposé d’Élégance”—a not-for-profit online institution to be
shared with millions of young people around the world. Our mission is to
inspire and educate the youth, artists, and creators to elevate their standards
of quality, substance, and demeanor, and to join in the revival of true
elegance.
